NCWA + Campus Causes, changing the way club sports teams offset their costs to compete

1520698543NCWA_black 2July 10, 2018 – To kick off the 2018-2019 school year, the National Collegiate Wrestling Association (NCWA), the nationally recognized governing body for the sport of wrestling, is launching a partnership with Campus Causes to help their 150+ member teams raise more money to assist with their travel, equipment and gym expenses. Students, coaching staff, friends, family and alumni can now “shop-to-raise” hundreds of brands with a portion of each purchase going back to the team.

“Our organization is dedicated to expanding athletic opportunity to tomorrow’s leaders and Campus Causes is going to help us in this mission. By allowing wrestlers and their network to shop as they normally would – for athletic gear, school expenses, travel, food, home or business needs – while raising money, our students will have the ability to spend more time in the classroom and on the mat, not searching for ways to fund their passion”, said Jim Giunta, Founder & Executive Director of the NCWA.

“We are thrilled to provide the NCWA with a platform to enhance their fundraising and make wrestling more affordable for students nationwide,” said Steve Schubert, partner and co-founder of Newbridge Marketing Group, the owner of Campus Causes. “Campus Causes provides the NCWA with an online donations platform which also helps them organically raise funds all year long via shopping. The stories Jim has told about the positive impact club wrestling makes on students’ lives in school and beyond make us happy to help support their mission while also bringing our brand partners valuable new consumers. It is a true win-win-win.”

To support a NCWA team, visit CampusCauses.com/NCWA or the individual team page on NCWA.net/teams and shop with Nike, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Walmart, Apple, Buffalo Wild Wings, Starbucks, Levi’s and over 400 more brands, retailers and restaurants.

About National Collegiate Wrestling Association (NCWA)

The NCWA, the only collegiate athletic governing body devoted exclusively to the sport of wrestling, was founded in 1997 as a 501c3 association created to fill the gap in the collegiate wrestling community. Since many colleges and universities have been unable to offer men’s and women’s wrestling opportunities for incoming students within their current athletic structure, the NCWA has stepped up to help provide alternative participation opportunities to the increasing number of high school seniors wishing to continue wrestling at the college level. The NCWA helps develop programs under the school’s athletic department, student services department or sport club department providing member institutions with a national governing body for competition, communication and promotion of collegiate style wrestling.
